Advantages to Quickbooks Online

I will adm
it I was never a huge fan of QB Online.
In its early years it sported limited capability and a frustrating user interface. However the newest version has become so robust that I now recommend to most of my clients.
Here are some reasons why:
- Real time. This is a huge benefit when you are utilizing outside support such a bookkeeper or accountant. No files to upload and move back and forth.
- Works on both Mac and PC – so if you use a Mac but your bookkeeper uses a PC, it’s not a problem.
- Easy invoicing. QB Online allows you to easily email your invoices. While the regular versions of QB do this as well I find the online is fast and easy.
- Multi-user access is included. All QB versions offer multi-user licenses for an additional fee, however with QB Online Basic you get 1 user plus your accountant/bookkeeper and with the QB Plus you are allowed 3 users plus your accountant/bookkeeper.
- Access anytime from any computer with internet access.
- User activity tracking. The admin can see what all users have been doing on the file.Class tracking – available on the QB Online Plus. Very helpful when you have multiple departments and are interested in tracking profitability of each department as well as overhead.
- Budget tracking – also on the Plus. Ability to create a budget based on historical data. Tracks actual version budgeted so you always know where you are financially.
- Cost – QB Basic is $9.95 per month and the QB Plus is $19.95 per month.
Note: If your business needs to track inventory you will need to be using the standard Pro or Premier versions.
